Reflections on 2017, what to look forward to in 2018 and tomorrow’s links

Evening All

2017

2017 in one word. Tumultuous. A time of change for the blog, Twitter and me personally. We started the first 6 months smashing the Goal Line inplays on Twitter. Made profit every month. Then July came around and, I rightly so, put pressure on myself to get the EPL book for the season out before it started this year.

Pre -orders were available from July and they were very popular. I pretty much spent all of July and the first week of August researching and writing the EPL book. I did eventually manage to get it out on time but only just. The week before launch I was on annual leave and it felt like I never left the laptop!

This came at a cost and that was that I did not have the time to continue with the Inplays, on any sort of regular basis. The blog still ticked along though and as of September, I made the long-term free card a subscription service. One of the main reasons for doing so was the time it was taking to collate it all. It’s continued to do well since and I am looking to improve the SR of it in the year ahead.

We also started the daily links and quick stats sheets. These are still in development and not quite the finished article yet, but they are close. A significant amount of time and expense has gone into these to get them to where they are at the moment, and we will continue to work on them.

My biggest disappointment reflecting back on the whole year is that I strayed away from one of my core principles of regular goal-line betting. Some may have noticed that I stopped the eyes part way through the year. As we grew and more people got on, once the eyes were posted the odds suffered. More on that later, in the year ahead.

I also launched TTT community and whilst it is going well with about 50 or so members, it is not yet where I would want it to be to open it up to all. There are many similar such groups especially on FB and they tend to turn into a free for all with people chasing every bet. That is not what the community is at the moment but I fear it could end up like that without due consideration. A few personal health issues thrown into the mix, and our eldest returning back to school after being homeschooled for 4 years made it all rather intriguing.

2018

Tomorrow marks the start of the new year. These are the key points/targets I will be looking to achieve for 2018;

  1. Returning to Inplays as of January (tomorrow depending on games)
  2. Continuing to develop and finalise the quick stats and links sheets
  3. Sharing more free products and tools that you can use to help your betting
  4. Develop and improve my current systems and explore new ones
  5. Write more relevant betting related content on the blog rather than it just being a history of picks

Happy New Year

A bit of a ramble, yes I am aware of that. Let me sign off 2017 by thanking you all for your support and encouragement throughout the year and the ones before this one. On a final note, I wish you and your families, health, happiness, progress and prosperity for the year ahead.
