June 16 – Horses

Morning guys,

Not a great start to the fancies yesterday with no winners. Onto today, and the start of one of the most awaited flat season meetings, Royal Ascot. The fields are packed with top quality horses but nothing caught my eye so sitting it out on the tipping front. However, I like a couple of horses away from Ascot, more on them in the selections and fancies.

The selections:
Running P/L (+83.28pts)

5:50 Thirsk
Armandihan 8/1 (365) 1pt win

I think the horse looks set for a good run dropping into a class 5 for the first time since 2017. The horses last run over 12F on turf saw it finish second in a class 4 race and now it is running in a class 5 race off 75. The trainer has a good record over the course operating at a 20% SR and 17.5% TJ combo over the last year.

Fancies:

5:20 Thirsk – The defiant 25/1 (365 1/4 for 3 places) 0.25pt ew
7:30 Windsor – Cuttin Edge 33/1 (BF 1/5 for 4 places) 0.25pt ew

Points staked – 2

I have linked the racing post race-card for each horse and it should direct you to the respective race should you click on the horse’s name if you would like to dive deeper into the form.

Good luck as always
Utsav
