Evening All
The FA Cup returns tomorrow for the 3rd round replays and there are 6 games to look at all kicking off at 1945 except Palace at 2000 and Lincoln at 2005
Burnley v Sunderland
Barnsley v Blackpool
Fleetwood Town v Bristol City
AFC Wimbledon v Sutton United
Crystal Palace v Bolton Wanderers
Lincoln City v Ipswich Town
Let’s take a look at a couple of the Games where I think there may be some value;
Burnley v Sunderland
Burnley are relatively comfortable under Sean Dyche’s management in the EPL this season, meanwhile at the bottom Sunderland under David Moyes surely have bigger priorities? Notwithstanding that Burnley have a great home record at Turf Moor, and they are currently priced at 2.0 to win tomorrow evening have won last 4/4 at home and since opening week loss to Swansea they have only lost to Arsenal and Man City at home this season. Sunderland have lost 8/10 away in the league and I don’t think Moyes is in any position to play his first XI considering their league position. Premier league survival is a must and he may be under orders from the board to rotate – I hope he is otherwise he may play his first XI
Burnely are 2.0 to win this
Next up is…
Lincoln City v Ipswich Town
Lincoln in the National league welcome Ipswich from the championship, three leagues above the hosts and it would be no surprise if many pile on Ipswich. They may well win but the odds aren’t right. Lincoln have been great at home this season and the last time they lost a FA Cup game at home was back in 2011. They are top of their league and have won 9/14 this season at the Sincil Bank Stadium. Ipswich on the other hand are 14th in the Championship, mid table and in patchy form. The pay day for getting into the play offs and maybe the EPL should outweigh progressing to the 4th round of the FA Cup. Now under the management of a shrewd, but proud Irish Mick McCarthy Ipswich may not want to concede this and he may not rotate his squad, however their away record is not great only winning 3/12 in the league. Their recent FA Cup away record is even worse with 1/11 wins away in the past 10 seasons. I was looking at Lincoln DC but it is too short, waiting for team news on this one is a must imo and if Lincoln field a strong side then Lincoln to qualify @ 2.25 has legs
I normally avoid cups and the league games are absolutely dire for the rest of the week, so play money only please if you follow.
