Afternoon All,
Very few games today that really stand out, more of a cup day than anything else. When I saw the fixtures I first thought we wouldn’t find anything. However I have managed to pick these ones out.
I do tend to stay away from Cups, at least until team news is posted so you may want to take the first one with caution to see if there are any significant rotations from the weekends game. Shorter write ups today as I have less time. 2 Away picks here, it could go pear-shaped….
As always good luck if following.
English Football League Cup
Birmingham in the Chapionship host Oxford Utd who were playing in League 2 last year. Birmingham if they do not rotate too many players should be good enough for the win and expected them much shorter than this.
Birmingham v Oxford 19:45
Birmingham win @ 2.0 2 pts
English National League
Dagenham & Redbridge were relegated last season into this league. They started off the season with a very strong performance at home to Southport running out 3-0 winners.
Their young forward Fejire Okenabirhie is worth keeping an eye on, got a goal and an assist in that first game and also MOTM. The Daggers make the trip up to Chester this evening who finished 17th in the league last season.
New signings Paul Benson & Corey Whitely could feature in the squad tonight, which will give them a couple of extra options and strengthen them further. My only concern is that Chester were relatively solid at home last year only losing 6 of 23, but I am pushing it aside.
Chester v Dagenham & Redbridge 19:45
Dagenham win @ 2.4 1.5pt
German 3 Liga
Wehen Weisbaden host Fortuna Koln this evening. They have only met 4 times in the past with Fortuna winning 3 of those. Fortuna enjoyed a good pre-season and have made a good start to the campaign. Despite them not usually travelling well they have also won their last 4 away in the league. At the price they are I am willing to have half a point on them.
Wehen Weisbaden v Fortuna Koln 18:00
Fortuna Koln win @ 3.2 0.5pt
