Decent fixtures back again today. The first few game weeks of any season are notoriously difficult to get right but today’s picks as follows;
1. England – Fulham v Newcastle
Fulham played some dire football last year under Jokanovic and have retained his services for the new season, well at least the start of it.
Historically they have a good h2h record at home to Newcastle won 10 of 15 but it has to be taken lightly and is not a reflection of where each of us he clubs are at the moment.
Newcastle finished last season strongly despite being relegated. They were unbeaten in their last 6 matches. Their biggest signing of the summer was retaining Benitez who now finds himself managing a championship side.
They have bought well over the summer and many are picking them to win the league. I expect they will but too short a price for me.
Newcastle to win is decent enough at 2.1 however I think they will have far too much for Fulham, so I will reach a bit.

2. Netherlands KO 1900 – NEC v Zwolle
These two kick off the Dutch Eredivsie season this evening. Both had a relatively uneventful league season last year finishing 10th and 8th respectively.
Both sides struggle to keep a clean sheet and conceded over a goal per game last season. Zwolle only kept 4 clean sheets away the whole of lasts season, and NEC only failed to score at home on three occasions.
Looking at the recent history on these two teams also suggests goals. Over the last 3 seasons in the league the results have been; 3-1, 1-5 & 1-3
BTTS and over 2.5 match goals @ 1.95 1 pt
3. France KO 1900 Reims v Bourgeois Peronnas
Reims, yes them again. Dropped down into this league after relaxation last year by the narrowest of margins. After the early red card in week 1, we are playing them again tonight.
This is their first home game of the campaign and they welcome one of the worst performing teams away from home in the league last year.
Peronnas had a year to forget and struggled for the majority of last season. They lost 11 of their away games against poorer opposition than Reims, with a net away goal difference of -21.
Reims -1 AH @ 2.35 1 pt
