We’re into August, the month that most of the main leagues kick off their season. So we’ll almost be back to normal with daily picks on the blog.
Couple I like today as per below.
1. France – Amiens v Reims; Reims drop down from league 1 and travel to newly promoted Amiens for the first game of the season. They have had a few personnel changes including a new coach installed Michel Der Zakarian who has come across from a 4 year spell with Nantes. I can’t look past the price considering where these teams were last year and Michel will want to make a strong start.

2. Ireland – Wexford Youths v St Patricks; St Pats now free from the distraction of UEL can focus on getting their season back on track. I think it starts here tonight. They won the reverse 4-0.

3. Sweden – Kalmar v Djurgarden; Neither side can defend and both leak goals. Djurgarden have lost 6 on the spin away from home, but Kalmar have not kept a clean sheet at home all season. They earned reputable draws against AIK and Malmo recently and may just have enough to nick this one.
