Inplay Problem Update and upcoming change

Guys (apologies in advance for all the words)

As most long term followers will know this is my hobby, and I am reasonably OK at finding winners on the footy. For the new followers, if you don’t know or have not read the blog landing page, I am much like yourselves. Have a full time job and family commitments etc etc. So where am I going with this? Well I started with the one twitter @thetippingtimes hence the blog, and then I started making forays into Inplays.

Keeping track of them and pulling them out of the tweets on the one @ was laborious, due to having to filter through the chat tweets. Due to the other time commitments I was not (and am not) in a position to keep a daily up to date PL position. So I created another @tttinplay based purely for Inplay picks. This worked well to start with and even if I left it a week or 2 before going back and updating PL it worked.

It’s not working now. My timeline is loading at a rate of a tortoise on it’s last legs, I have contacted Twitter and logged the issue. This is not confined to 1 platform, on mobile my history only goes back 5 days and on desktop (here) I have spent hours trying to get all the Inplays posted on Twitter, so as we are nearing month end I can give a final position on PL for November. Since tracking from the start of the season proper we have made profit in each of the first 3 months and since trying to get an updated position from my tweets over the past week I have been unable to.

I do not want to be in that position again.

I have given this a lot of thought, and my biggest priority will always be keeping a track of my profitability, or not as the case may be so you can make an informed decision as to whether to follow or not. If I could pull from Twitter every day (or every other day) the posts and their PL the current format would work, but as mentioned above i do not always have the time. As an example since starting this post my TL has loaded to 24/11.

As a trial all my Inplays will be posted on here rather than Twitter, I will have an easily retrievable record that will take little of my time. The blog is set to auto tweet any post on this page, but we all know that Twitter notifications can be hit and miss. So you will all see them still on Twitter but you may need to click the link to view the pick, this adds a couple of seconds for you guys, which I am aware of. To counteract this I will be posting my Inplay Goal Line picks earlier in games to allow those that want to get on enough time to get on. Really there should only be a short delay if you click a link but I will post before the odds hit 6.0 or not at all. It may help if you subscribe to the blog as you will get an email notification when I put an Inplay up which is more reliable than Twitter.

I am bitterly disappointed that I may not be able to report an accurate Inplay PL for November, I am still hopeful that Twitter will come back to me with a resolution. However until they do the above is how I will be posting Inplays, I hope you understand and with me not posting any above 6.0 that should give followers a chance to still get on. As I said the blog will still auto tweet them anyway, but I am aware of plenty that have not got my twitter notification in past so to mitigate the risk if you are not already signed up to the blog via email then it’s something to consider.

Stay Lucky

Mark
