Evening All, today’s football picks are from England. Also have eyes on fgs when teams announced.
1. England – Oxford v Bury: interesting match up this one with Bury on the rise since Lee Clarke took over 8 games ago, which includes 5 clean sheets. Throw in the red hot form of the prolific James Vaughan up front and this has the makings of an upset. He did come off with a niggling hamstring last weekend but is expected to start. They only need 3 more points to pretty much ensure safety from relegation and could achieve that here tonight.
Oxford travel to the EFL cup final on Sunday to take on Coventry, and Oxford are the favourites to lift the trophy. They have key players missing including leading goalscorer, Maguire, and it would surprise me if they risk him tonight over Sunday. They also have a couple still away on international duty. Forget the talk of late push for play-offs, they probably need to not drop any points and have results go their way.
Bury’s dramatic upturn in form is hard to ignore, combined with Vaughan’s goal threat and their recent solidity in defence. Oxford’s players coming to the end of a long arduous season in a competitive division may already be mentally at Wembley. At the price offered I can’t look past Bury to win this.
